It all starts with listening. I listen to understand your experience. And ultimately, together, we work to cultivate a lived experience intended to enlighten, unburden and enliven.

To do this I use an integrative psychoanalytic approach founded in respect, curiosity and collaboration.
Whether it's a life-change, an experience that feels impossible to get beyond, a daily struggle to find meaning or motivation, creative blocks, feeling frustrated with the quality of relationship to oneself or others, I will meet you there.

Amongst the areas of inquiry, we will consider the quality of early relationships with caregivers and other key people. We will create space to inquire how each of those important relationships configure your internal life and how it may play out in present-day dynamics, intimate love, identity, fantasy and the choices you make.

A psychoanalytic approach tends to focus on such things as internal experience, the impact of environment on identity, and relationships-past and present. I also use EMDR to treat trauma held in the body which may feel more difficult to reach and process with only words.
Separately, I may encourage you to carry on our work together outside of our sessions, with journaling or your own meditation practice that I can teach you if needed.
With a background in anthropology, I have a special interest in how culture shapes each of us. Together, we will consider the impact of your culture and how it may shape the meaning of triumphs and the struggles you face.

I hold masters degrees from NYU's School of Social Work and TISCH School of the Arts. I am a graduate of NIP's 4 year psychoanalytic program and a former board member of NIPPA. I am also EMDR Level 3 trained via The Parnell Institute. I am in private practice and serve as a Counseling Consultant for the Juilliard School.

I see clients in person and online, with offices in both in NYC and Hudson NY.
